Any thoughts and or ideas on this one? I can run and or bike and or do whatever the hell else you may suggest - I just don't have access to a rower.

Jay,

Before I had a rower I did kettlebell swings for what I thought was roughly the equivalent amount of time for the rowing distance. That was for 500-1000 meters rows. But swinging a kettlebell for 25 minutes straight? Running a 5K could be a good substitute. I think the "Alcatraz" workout (squat-thrust plus a pushup and jump) for 20 rounds is a great overall conditioner that might work if the weather is a problem.

Hope this helps.

Oh god, I'm not about to run another 5k, hahaha. I'll probably just pull up an old WOD - or maybe I'll do the powerlifting meet, I want to see where my numbers are!

As corny as this sounds, I have a couple different weights of those power elastic things (with handles on either end) from Lifeline. The door attachment lets me attach the midpoint of the band to a door jam, then I just sit on the floor and row away for the requisite time (3:30/km for me). They work alright in a jam!

Ok, tried to post this earlier and it failed... here goes:
My substitute was 95lb barbell power cleans. I figured I see how quickly I could do it 100 times. I estimated it would take me about 10 minutes. Well...
Let's just say I never made it to 100 and leave it at that.

I ended up doing my own substitution:

Didnt really pay attention to the exact weight on the bars or total time it took to complete so sorry for lack of details.

I pretty much did a mix of German Volume Training and EDT. I loaded up two bars, one for squatting and one for deadlifts. I did 10 sets of 10 for both exercises. I alternated between the squats and the deads and tried to rest as little as possible between sets. By the end of it, I was layed out on the ground gasping for air and having an intimate moment with pukie (Although he never showed his face, he let me know he was near :-) )
