I am curious to the hybrid diets people have developed using the concepts of Paleo, Warrior and Zone diets. I have been using the Zone diet since I went to a CrossFit cert and am amazed at how it has impacted everything I do both physically and mentally. I am always looking to try something new and am curious to the fasting aspects of the Warrior diet.

William,

Do a search for "IF" and/or Intermittant Fasting. The Performance Menu has a few back issue articles covering it also. More similarities than not to the Warrior Diet and all of if interesting IMO.

I can relate to even just doing the 'plain jane' Zone. I made progress on that approach alone that I never would have expected.

zone works great for a lot of people. but if you combine the macronutrient ratios of the zone with the food quality of paleo, how can it not be far better?

and all the cool kids are doing IF now.

I'm interested in trying the warriordiet on paleo diet foods. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. I've found so far, only been doing it for about a week, that I feel a little flaky during the day, and any morning workouts are crap, almost a waste of time but early afternoon workouts seem pretty good so far. Any thoughts??

Marie,
Give it some more time. You'll come out the other side a better person and athlete.

Looking at the Paleo Diet not knowing exactly what it was I realized I am already on it. When I started the Zone I have only been eating food from the butcher and the market. I do however have a good cheat on the weekend. The IF thing sounds really interesting and I think I am going to give it a shot.

Cheers Garrett, I'll stick with it. I guess every diet has to be 'tweeked' a bit to fit the individual and theres definately a lot that I like about the Warrior diet. May I also take this oppotunity to say I always find your posts very interesting and informative.

Thank you for the compliment Marie.

Actually, in today's day and age, I believe the converse of your statement is actually more true--that the individual must be "tweaked" to fit the diet. Our metabolisms have become so screwed up that eating a proper diet now requires biochemical backpedaling...
