How late do you let members start class?

Got a question: how late is too late for a member to show up to class? 20 minutes? 15? 5? At some point there must be a cutoff time. What's yours?

Re: How late do you let members start class?

If you're late at CFC you do burpees...typically 3-5 for every minute you're late. We do group warm-ups so if you show up late you're missing the warmup...and there's no better way to warm someone up than with BURPEES! But if the WOD has started and you're not there yet, you might as well wait until the next hour.

Re: How late do you let members start class?

Is the person consistently late, or just once in a while? Is it just one person, or a bunch of people. I'd be more lax with someone if I knew they were doing their best to be on time, and I'd definitely come down hard if it felt like people were generally ignoring the scheduled start time.

How big is the class? The bigger it is, the harder it is to give the latecomer any special attention they need.

What's the workout? It's a lot easier to accommodate a latecomer when the group is doing deadlifts than when they're doing Fight Gone Bad.
