CrossFit Business Blogs

I feel like there is a lack of blogs about the business side of CrossFit. I know Nicki Violetti's blog is a good one and so is CFLA's.

I thought it would be interesting to start a blog of a box as it's attempting to open. I've started one (W/F/S)here. I plan on posting all the info I've created and used. For instance, I just posted the financial spreadsheets I've been using and I plan on posting my business plan and little tid bits I learn on the way. I have no "business experience." So if you don't either feel free to follow. This is really just meant to be a catalog of all the things it takes to open a box as they happen.

If anyone is interested please check it out and feel free to email me. If anyone has any other good CrossFit business blogs that I've missed please let me know.

Andrew, I can't access the spreadsheet from work to check it out, but the idea of this blog is genius. If you can actually keep up with it while being busy with starting the business, it could be invaluable for someone trying to open a box in the near future (or that has dreams of it )

Damn Bo. I love you man you always have the nicest things to say. Haha, definitely a pick me up. I'm definitely going to be trying to keep it updated at least once a day. Stay tuned.

Well, it's something unique that can help soon-to-be affiliate owners. CFLA has capitalized on a product that is much much needed, and has done well by it. While this forum is a great resource, there isn't much in the way of a standardized packet of information to help affiliate's start.

As a suggestion, you might want to keep it organized as if you were going to make a "guide" out of it at the end... because THAT would be a big deal.

Awesome Andrew,

This is a great idea. I spent way too much time trying to hobble together back end info from different sources and customizing it all for my business.

The Spreadsheets I made really did make me feel better and allowed me to set attainable goals.

Good luck with this, I will be reading it!

Re: CrossFit Business Blogs

Thanks Rich. I appreciate it. It makes me feel nerdy by getting excited about numbers but you gotta find comfort in the little things I suppose. If all else fails at least I got really good at excel. Definitely a useful thing to put on the resume:

CEO, CrossFit Box
Business failed. Got real good at Excel.

Re: CrossFit Business Blogs

I think there is just a general lack of communication between Affiliate owners, period. Not sure what the cause is...whether it's because they're all too busy, or scared they might give up secrets that may help their "competition" grow, or maybe even scared to let others know their hardships.

I tried to pull together a message board for local affiliates and it has been less than successful to say the least.
