I looked at his site and all the bodybuilding exercises are listed and depicted there. So, if the article is written by him, I don't know what he's making fun of 'cause he advocates the same damn exercises he's making fun of.

There's a big difference between advocating bench press with correct technique and mocking the typical gym rat who performs the exercise with terrible technique thus missing the benefit of the exercise.

Charles Staley is an excellent coach and extreamely knowledgable. He is also a martial artist and has a pretty good sense of humor (I've got this from reading his articles). The article is mocking yor average gym rat who is obsessed with bench press.

I don't know Mr Staley personally, but when he posts at t-nation he's got a great sense of humor when it comes to mocking others.
