Re: Post pics of your home/garage gym

Here is my CrossFit garage gym:

http://www.byronland.com/images/CF_GarageGym_1.jpg

It consists of:
  1. PowerMax olympic bar
  2. Home-made parallettes
  3. Pendlay squat stands
  4. Everlast 20 lbs. medicine ball
  5. Rings
  6. AbMats
  7. Jump ropes
  8. Bumper plates (2x10, 2x25, 2x35, 2x45)
  9. Small plates (4x5, 2x2.5)
  10. Concept 2 Model D PM3 rower
  11. Sports Authority weight rack
  12. Sports Authority weight bench
  13. Home-made modular plyo box (see my thread here)
  14. 1 and 1.5 pood Ader kettle bells
  15. PVC pipes

In the morning when I work out, I haul whatever I need out into my driveway:

And here is my pull-up bar, cleverly disguised with a decorative bird feeder

Re: Post pics of your home/garage gym

Hey Alex - and anyone else who does CF at home:

One thing I'm curious about. When a workout calls for wall ball, do you throw a ball against the side of your house?

I was contemplating getting a medicine ball - or maybe making one out of an old basketball - but I'm also picturing my wife getting irritated at any resulting noise and/or marks that might cause.

Awesome thread, by the way. Keep it going.
My head goes between the joists, but it's close. I have to shoulder press between the joists too, or the 45s will hit. Good thing I'm only 5'6".

James - Right, I throw the ball against the side of the house. There is no noise, it's not like kicking a soccer ball against the wall. The ball just touches the wall.

My med ball's outer layer is leather, and it does not seem to leave any noticeable marks. Even if it did, I would imagine they'd be superficial and pretty easy to wipe off occasionally.

No complaints from my wife so far

Re: Post pics of your home/garage gym

I have a pretty much fully equipped warehouse gym at my office. I'm starting to get the one at home together for weekend workouts. My office is 40 miles from my house so I want to minimize my driving where I can. We just moved in on March 31, so its coming along slow.

I have a pull up bar and stealth mounted xtreme rings. Also not pictured here is a crappy olympic set.

Dude, I hate you (read: extremely jealous). That's a great setup. Everything you need in a perfect space.
