- I worked out there yesterday when I was in town visiting my parents for Thanksgiving, and I would encourage anyone who's in Santa Fe and has the time to take a look at the place. It's CrossFit paradise, with a trampoline, a balance beam, a wall with heights marked off for med ball throws, lots of C2 rowers, 4 O-lifting platforms with lots of quality bars and bumper plates, 3 sets of rings (!), 6 OL-certified coaches, and one very friendly US National/Olympic/Worlds Olympic lifting coach for an owner. You pay extra for the partridge in a pear tree.
I plan to go back there this Christmas and next year for as much O-lift instruction as I can get.

Nice!

What's the "special Dead Lift bar to safeguard back" mentioned in the first set of equipment photos? Anyone?

Ross, was Carl familiar with CrossFit?

Carrie,

That looks like a trap bar to me.

Carrie,

The one other gym-goer I had a chance to talk to (a ~40-year-old woman doing rack jerks on the platform next to me) knew about CrossFit, kettlebells, and clubbells, so odds are good that Mr. Miller knows about CrossFit, but I forgot to ask him. The presence of the rings alone is suggestive, too. I'll make a point of asking him when I go back in December.
