5k Pr

So before CF I was "runner", slogging through long miles, running 5Ks, etc...... Results: 1 marathon, 2 1/2's and handful of 5Ks....times, okay but nothing great.

So I gave up those long miles when I began CF over a year ago. I ran my first 5K in that time span. Longest run up to that, 1 mile (Murph), mostly 800m during the workouts.

Todays results: PR 20:30, 2nd age group (30-34), felt fine, no stress, no heavy breathing, just an easy run. When I hit mile one and my time was 6:32 (1min ahead of thinking pace) I thought that CF is the best thing to come around and I am just addicted to the Kool Aid.

Other interesting fact, ran entire race in VFF. Boy, did I get a few strange looks, but that is okay, sparks interest in CF.

Re: 5k Pr

Very nice, Toby. 6:32 is very solid for a 5K!

What kind of surface were you running on? Kudos on keeping it real with the VFF

Re: 5k Pr

6:32 5k would get him into the Olympics i reckon

6:32 Mile is great Toby, 20:30 for the 5k is just as nice if not better. I can only wish my running would be that fast.

Haha. whoops...

Nice Toby. I've had problems transitioning to barefoot on pavement... probably a holdover from my heel-striking days. Borderline stress fractures in 2nd metatarsals of both feet Congrats!

Re: 5k Pr

I had a PR recently in the 5K and just wanted to mention it. I'm NOT a runner, I'm short and stocky with short and stockier legs! I do no running except for the WOD's, and recently had a 24'30" on the 5K, down like two minutes from about two months before. GO crossfit!
