Hi everyone. I am thinking about starting the Zone but have a question regarding dairy. Right now I am pretty much dairy free but I have noticed that a lot of the snacks include some type of dairy whether it is yogurt, cheese, or cottage cheese. Does anyone have suggestions for snacks (or the Zone as a whole) that are dairy free?

Lots or chicken breasts work great. I cook them up in big batches and then use them as snacks. To help get over the monotony of eating chicken all of the time I have tracked down some good spice rubs and chuttney's. I throw a little in with a chopped up chicken breast, mix it up and heat it up.

You can also use canned tuna, boiled eggs and jerky. I think that the performance journal had a recipe on how to make your own jerky without all of the nitrates and other crap that most jerky has.

Grilling up a bunch of chicken breast is a great way to make easy snacks or lunches.

I get about 8 of them and on a Sunday afternoon I'll soak them with some fresh lime juice a bit of cilantro and pepper, grill them up and let them cool down, throw them in some ziplocks and eat them for the week.

Easy, cheap, and very portable.
