My Best
1. Starting Crossfit in March 2008.
2. Learning to do my first pull-up that I seriously didn't think I could ever do.
3. Giving up my 3/day Diet Coke habit after 15 yrs
4. Deadlifting 245# PR
5.
About the diet cokes , I have one every day on the way to work but since not working this week I forgot all about them, until now

Best:
1. Learning to get over my kicking up the wall paranoia
2. Going from 1 partial to 18 consecutive HSPU's
3. Re-homing my special rescue cat Fife Meowington
4. Deadlifting 200k/440lb
5. Been saying for 15 years "I wish there was a sport that combined my strength and stamina perfectly" , then I found Crossfit.

Worst:
1. My cat Phyllis died, had to hold her while she was put to sleep, and she jus looked into my eyes and smiled at me.
2. Hurt my lower back and its still not fully recovered.
3. Hurt both shoulders lowering weights wrong

Re: A Soccer Mom's Log

Well, this has been a crazy year for me...

My best moments:
1) Got married in Cuba to the most amazing man ever!
2) Went to the CrossFit Games (and got to meet some amazing people)
3) Turned 30
4) Went Zip Lining
5) Went Sky Diving
6) Broke the Canadian Deadlift Record - lifted triple bodyweight
7) Finished my University Degree with an honours major in accounting (and somehow managed a concentration in HR - I don't even like HR - haha)
8) Found out I'm going to be an AUNT - Soooooooooooo excited!!
9) And I got tonnes of other training PRs too...all in all this has been a fantastic year!!

My worst:
1) I'm sure I've got some bad moments but since nothing really stands out, I'll focus on the good stuff.

Rest Day Social Club Q&A-
Your Best/Worst of 2008 (anything goes (wfs), name as many as you like)
My Best
1. Discovering CF!!
2. 190# Deadlift
3. Coming back from a three-peat back injury
4. Returning to raw and living -- been pacing the last two weeks, got up to 100% yesterday!!
5. Trying new things, whether for better or worse (CF, paleo, vegetarian, raw and living, rock climbing, biking 57 miles..!)
6. Realizing the true meaning of happiness and enjoying life...!
7. Redefining my goals (see my 101 goals in 1,001 days post on my blog)
8. Being completely and totally okay with myself
9. Buying my own start-up CF gym for my garage!
10. Quitting the globo-gym.
11. Finding a newer, better job.
12. Bouncing back with a vengeance from all of "My Worst" list

My Worst
1. 3peat back injury!
2. Falling off the CF track for several months due to back. No more excuses!
3. Ignoring proper nutrition needs for a few months, also in conjunction with the back injury. Also, no more excuses
4. Getting laid off
5. My ex screwing me over financially
6. Having 3 different vehicles... long story

I like the previous posts... seems there are a lot of positive people on these boards

Good idea, Christin.

Good:

1) Hubby and I both still have our jobs.
2) For the first time, seeing - I mean really seeing - Number One Son through the eyes of others. And realizing that "Damn, he's a good kid. I think we've done a good job with him." Makes all the stress of parenthood worth it.
3) Finding Crossfit (of course!)

Bad:

1) Stress about the long-term viability of Hubby's job.
2) Stress over whether or not Hubby will deploy to Iraq, which leads back to the first bad thing.

Re: A Soccer Mom's Log

track running uber alles.

My best of list is easy:

1-marriage in Feb
2-got with a fantastic company
3-started back Crossfit for good in July and subsequently changed my life
4-decided to stop the grains and, again, subsequently changed my life

worst

1-nothing. I don't dwell on the bad too long, I try to make the best of everything. But that time I didn't have a car for 2 months really sucked.

Re: A Soccer Mom's Log

Christin, what a wonderful idea for questions! Thanks again!

Rest Day Social Club Q&A-

Your Best/Worst of 2008 (anything goes (wfs), name as many as you like)
My Best
1. Absolutely #1......my 35th year anniversary to my sweetheart!!
2. Finding CrossFit and doing it at my age!
3. Seeing what CF has done for me at my age and knowing that ANYONE can do CF regardless of age or ability.
4. Getting my first dead-hang pull up at 40+ pounds heavier and 28 years older than when I was when doing PT in the LE academy!
5. Learning to kip!!
6. Setting 2 of my 10 6 month CF goals more than 3 months early (getting 5 DHPUs in a row and completing a "Fran" regardless of time).
7. Meeting and learning from all the amazing and wonderful people one this forum.
8. Retiring from a 28 year career in LE without getting shot, run over, and still being healthy.
9. Buying my first Corvette!
10. Moving into our new house in the Sierras.

My Worst:
1. Feeling so utterly spent and frustrated after completing my first "Michael" at 41:49; and my first "Dirty Thirty-five (scaled Filthy Fifty) at 42:18. I had never worked so hard in my life!
2. Retiring and missing all the great people with whom I worked and serving the public. I really enjoyed my job!
3. Seeing my 89 year old Dad's health starting to fail and my Dad's spirits sinking as he watches his friends and acquaintances pass away around him.
4. Having to look for a job after retiring, due to the failing economy.
5. Seeing continuing examples of peoples' inhumanity to and treatment of others.
