And yes, I'll only be using it for metcons and strength work (DLs, squats, cleans, presses).
Well, if you wait about a week, I have a Burgener and Rippetoe bar on the way, and I can tell you what I think of it.

At my gym, I have Pendlay bars for Olympic weightlifting and Capps Texas Power Bars for powerlifting. So, I want to see what I think of the B&R as a good combo bar for someone who wants/needs to do both without buying two separate bars.

Actually, if you can wait until tomorrow, I can tell you about the B&R. Because I am pretty sure that the long cardboard tube sitting in front of my door has a barbell in it.

I know of someone who snapped his forearm doing heavy cleans with a cheap bar, i would not suggest using one for oly lifts.

Let me know how the B&R bars workout. Although I don't think I want to spend $300 on a BB

Investing in a good bar that will last the rest of your life will be better in the long run than having to replace cheap, poor quality bars every time they break.

I agree but wouldn't a york bar that is $100 less suffice? Especially considering the fact that it will not be used for hours on end every single day.

Re: #1 Reason Not to CrossFit w/ Cheap BB

it's funny how people's perspective about value is on different things... people think that $50 for a nutritional supplement for a month is expensive, but then drop that on one meal at a restaurant without thinking twice.

i wonder how much the average television cost in a persons home that thinks $300 for a barbell is expensive?

Bad rotation of the bar when bringing it to the rack snapped his forearm.
