Re: 11 weeks in, with photos

Wow, Tamara! Great work. I started CF a week ago and loving it so far. Best news yet, my wife saw your pics and she is now inspired to give it a try. We are heading the the Y right now for her first CF workout. Too bad it's my day off!

Re: 11 weeks in, with photos

Thanks, Tim! I wore a bikini today for the first time since I was pregnant with my daughter. Whoohoo.

Things that have really helped me as a newbie: watching a lot of demo videos here, the CF Journal (crazy that it's only $25), and working out an an affiliate. I actually just signed up to do 5 private coaching sessions at my affiliate. I feel like I need to step up my Oly lift proficiency because my unfamiliarity with the lifts is really me in the WODs.

Have fun!

Holy hell, you look AMAZING! Do you have a workout log? I can only imagine what would happen if you started dialing in the diet as well!

Well, Meghan, I did NOT have a workout log, but I am about to start one now...basically because you said "Holy hell, you look AMAZING!" which might be the most badass compliment I have ever received in my life! So, thank you! I started reading other people's logs to see what the heck they put in them. I've just been writing down my skill work and WODs in my 3 ring notebook at my affiliate...old school! Will have to start posting here at my NEW WORKOUT LOG! Ha, the most intimidating part is thinking of a cool title for my thread. ACK...more time wasted on the CF site instead of grading papers!

Yeah, WOW lady that's the best. You and I are in the same boat, skills-wise; I think that's a big part of the fun factor. Lots to learn.

You made me laugh about the shoulder-tufts. My husband's got the same thing going, but I like it.

Re: 11 weeks in, with photos

Thanks, Rachel!

As for skills, well...ugh, running. I hate running. I don't even want to think about running.

I am apparently picking up barbell stuff very quickly, so that is exciting. We video taped my session on Tuesday night, so I can't wait to pick it apart with the coaches.

I am so much closer to an unassisted pullup than I thought I was. I tried some out at the monkey bars at the park yesterday, and I was like, holy crap! I was doing the tiniest jump possible and then getting myself up all the way. One buff looking dad was watching, and he said, "wow, those are hard, have you been working on them?" I started laughing. I want a pullup bar in my backyard!

The one thing I am good at is handstands. I was a cheerleader in high school, and I did some gymnastics when I was much younger. I guess that skill stayed with me because I know I am going to have a rocking handstand before long. Woot!

Great work, Tamara!

If you've brought up your kids as soccer fans, you officially win at life in all aspects.

LOL, Max! Thanks! Yeah, I haven't done much with my kids other than kick a ball around, but my daughter has been able to dribble like the wind since she was 2.

Get them brainwashed immediately! Unless you like Arsenal. In that case, I may have to call Child Protective Services before it's too late.

Seriously, keep up the great work.
