Dangit Bradley. At least you got some good calories in

Nice workout too. Looks like an upper-body buster for sure.

This. Both points.

Seriously one of the more beastly workouts posted here.

Brad, bad form.

Re: Sharknado

Played a dodgeball tournament tonight. A little embarrassed to say I am so deconditioned recently that I might actually be sore tomorrow...

Re: Sharknado

Was busy pretty much all of yesterday and worthless in the evening. Our gym was hosting a fundraiser that I was very excited to go but after judging the CF Roseville Women's Gauntlet from 8-4, I was done.

I passed out on my friend floor at his house for about 15 minutes after a bowl of Mac N Cheese and since I was expected it to end much earlier and then get some shoes, a shirt and bowtie for the Black&White fundraiser for Club SWOLE I just wasn't in the mood to go shopping at 830 after it started at 7.

OTOH I got to judge the Hang Clean and Anyway Overhead for 3 event and help out a score of gals while doing so. That was a blast...and many were hot.

Kelly Clark out of San Jose had such good form. Crazy to see out of a CFer at a local competition. Not even a WLer. 170x3 and she probably would be a 63kg lifter. She also slam dunked the rest of the competition for the most part. 3 MU at the end. Great form.

I had thought about doing my workout after it all wrapped up but my buddy really had to get home to his wife and little girls causing hell. No Squats or Deadlifts or rows and curls. I did clean 175lbs in slippers though with no warmup.

Friday was a decent night of lifting but too many snatches and big jumps in the CJ made for a crappy CJ of 81 after missing 90 then 87. My legs felt shot from the previous days FS so I did jerk drives on the neck and rack

Re: Sharknado

5 sets of 3 deadlifts at 180kg yesterday. Also, 3 x 3 press at 60kg followed by 2 x 3 x 62.5kg today. Strength is good.

Re: Sharknado

Jeff, I didn't realize she was actually your GF now. Congrats. You should get yourself to a competition. I'm sure she'll appreciate you cheering her on like a good SO should do.

Dodgeball sounds pretty fun. Exactly the kind of conditioning I could justify and wouldn't leave my left elbow and shoulder all wonky.

Just in case you are curious here are the CF Roseville Women's Gauntlet WOD's.

Quote:
Station 1A (4 min cap)
For time (or reps):
45 pull-ups (Scaled & 50+ do 45 burpees)
On the minute, do 10 Barbell Thrusters at 65# (Scaled & 50+ use 35#)
at the 4 minute mark, proceed to Station 1B
Station 1B (8 min cap) For reps
Row 1k
then, with remaining time, amrap of couplet:
12 unbroken kettlebell swings 44# (Scaled & 50+ use 26# Russian swing)
12 step-up on 20″ box holding two 35# kettlebells (Scaled & 50+ use 18#)
Station 2A (6 minute cap)
For combined total of max load at 2A and 2B:
Find 3 rep max hang clean
Station 2B (6 minute cap)
Find 3 rep max of shoulder to overhead
Station 3A (12 minute cap)
For time:
2 rounds of the couplet
50 double unders (Scaled & 50+ do 150 jumpropes)
15 power snatch 75# (Scaled & 50+ use 45#)
Station 3B (with remaining time from 3A)
For load:
Find 10 rep max front squat
Station 4A (12 minute cap)
For time:
2 rope climbs (Scaled & 50+ 30 yard sled pull with weight to be announced)
20 wallball 14# 10′ target (Scaled & 50+ use 10# ball to 8′ target)
20 box jumps 24″ (Scaled & 50+ use 20″ and step-ups allowed)
20 deadlift 155# (Scaled & 50+ use 85#)
Station 4B
For time
50 yard sled push with weights to be announced
Station 4C
For reps
As many reps as possible of
muscle-ups (35+ chest-to-bar pull-ups, Scaled & 50+ pull-ups)
Pretty interesting WOD's. 3 minutes of rest in between stations. Sled weight was 50 pounds plus sled for Scaled and 50+ and 90 pounds plus sled for RX. Brutal. I guess the volunteers got plenty of workout from pushing the sleds back.

Seems like there are a lot of Norcal competitions, even in Sac. CF Roseville is having a Men's Gauntlet next month and I'm thinking about doing it before another birthday. Or a mud race. CF Natomas had a brutal one including Stone Lifts.

Really need to get around to lifting stones at our gym. Maybe as conditioning work.

Re: Sharknado

Nice DL, Pearse. My gym had something called a Tactical challenge and there were some big DL followed by (weighted) pullups and 5m of KB snatching. Unfortunately I missed seeing it.

It would be nice to pull 180 again one of these days.

Re: Sharknado

I'm actually more happy with my press. Before developing shoulder issues, my 1RM was 65kg, so 3 reps at 62.5kg for two sets today makes me quite happy.

Still can't deadlift that ****ing 205kg (which would be a nice, even 450lbs), I've been after it for a long time now.
