Rest Day

Didn't exactly rest... played in my basketball leauge... quads are screaming... working late tonight... really want to do the thruster workout

Did the work out from

01.28.09

Thrusters

1-1-1-1-1-1-1


This was a workout of two tales.

The warm up was actually much easier for me and I blew through most of it. Still having issues with pull ups but I am getting stronger. Still using assitance but building to full body weight.

The thrusters absolutley sucked... I could not get comfortable with the weight in the rack position (which is why I never did front squats). Either I had all the weight on my writs... which hurt like hell... or I was pulling the stretching my shoulders in a really awkward way... In the end I simply could not get comfortable. Since I could not get the weight in the right position I lost all the power from the front squat and could not transfer it into the overhead lift.

I think the numbers kind of speak for themselves:

1 - 135
2 - 155
3 - 155
4 - 175 (f)
5 - 165
6 - 175 (f)
7 - dropped to 135 and tried to get comfortable with the weight in the rack position.... did 5 reps

Don't be disappointed. This is probably one of the most common problems for beginner CrossFitters. The wrist/shoulder flexibility will come pretty quickly, just stick with it!

LOL.....

I actually appreciate it....keep me honest!

I had to be in the office extra early this morning for a budgeting meeting. This really threw me off as I typically go to the gym in the morning. Normally I could go tonight but I am working late and tonight I owe my wife a date night.

I know... excuses excuses.... I need figure out how to alter my schedule better to get the consistency....

F*** it.... I will try and cut work early and hit the gym before date night....

400 Meter Run
Pull Ups - AMAP

Repeat for 20 minutes


Since my pull ups are still a bit weak I did assisted pull ups. I kept the setting at 70# for all rounds. All in all I am pretty happy I was a little scared to "let loose" on the run. I probably could have done it at a little higher intensity but I still almost met pukie so... it was a good workout... and damn... it was fun.

Round 1 - 15 (pu)
Round 2 - 15 (cu)
Round 3 - 9 (pu)
Round 4 - 10 (cu)
Round 5 - 9 (pu)
Round 6 - 6 pushups (I ran out of time and some guy stole my pull up machine... so I figured push ups were better than nothing)
