Donny Shankle did "Grace" in 1:47

Glenn Pendlay brought Donny Shankle over to our facility after the USAW Nationals today. Donny won!

Two hours later he was at our facility and Glenn was asking about that workout where you do the clean and jerk with 135LBs. So with little convincing Donny decided to give this CrossFit thing a try.

"Grace"

135LB Clean and Jerk

30 Reps for Time

Wearing a pair of jeans and work boots he did it in 1:47. He was smoked and I mean smoked! I will wait to post the video, I sent Tony Budding an email to see if he wants to post it on the main page.

Not to bad, a championship then two hours later had a sweet time on Grace! I am not sure but I think that is one of the best times.

That beats Tosh's time, and if he's an Oly lifter, I'm sure his form was a lot better (no offense intended).

I might be able to do that in 2:00. Hours, that is.

that is awesome! Once again, this shows how much of a impact / carry over / benefit it is to have high levels of strength and power.

I have met many strong people who rarely train w/high reps, but when they hit an exercise for high reps, they achieve big numbers.....on the flip side, they do not have the recovery ability of a regular CFer.

I am psyched to see this video!

I am sending it to Tony Budding so hopefully he puts it on the main site. Pretty funny to see a guy do it wearing jeans and boots. You can thank Glenn Pendlay for prodding Donny to do it!

Donny pressed the first 15, he could probably shave time off with some practice. He walked around with that look that people get when they try a CrossFit workout for about 30 minutes!

Since grace is 135lbs fropm ground to overhead anyway, I wonder if he could have power snatched it for a faster time. Anyone out there with better oly skills than me think that is possible?

"Anyhow" more or less has the caveat of being done in two motions. Or put otherwise, "it still has to be basically a clean and jerk, stop being a smartass."
