Need travel shoe recommendation

I travel a lot for work recently. When at home I like to squat and oly lift in my rogue do-wins and do everything else in my vibrams, but traveling with multiple shoes just for exercising is getting a little old. Does any one have a good recommendation for an all around shoe?

I've heard good things about Innov-8 230s but have not tried a pair personally.

Edit for grammar

I've got a pair of 230s, they're a pretty great overall shoe, I'm comfortable doing about anything but max weight snatches in them - and that's probably nothing more than a preference thing.

Also, I think the 195 was meant as a replacement to the 230s, so you can get a pair of 230s for really good prices.

Jeff,
I probably won't be doing any heavy oly work, as most travel gyms I've found frown on them. Any issue with heavy squatting in 230s? No issue with doing lighter squats in vibrams but after getting used to squatting in my oly shoes. Heavy squats feel weird now in my vibrams, but I would prefer to leave my heavy rogues at home while on the road.

That's true, most commercial or hotel gyms don't like that kind of thing.

I don't really have an issue squatting with the 230s, as a matter of fact I almost prefer doing low-bar squats with them. I mean, they are definitely a different feel than squatting in Olys (I have Do-Wins as well), but after you get used to it - it's really only a mental thing - there's no reason you can't go just as heavy. That is assuming you have halfway-decent ankle flexibility.

Re: Need travel shoe recommendation

I have the same situation--on the road every week for work and don't want to carry two pairs of work out shoes. The 195s are my travel shoe. They seem to be the best balance of a shoe for CF, lifting, running or whatever else you can put together in the hotel gym. I haven't tried the nano 2--never seem to be on sale and I don't care to part with that much $--but they have even more heal lift and might be a better choice.

When I'm home I make sure to get my heavy squats and oly work in so I can be more flexible with workouts on the road.

Re: Need travel shoe recommendation

Thanks the info guys. Went ahead and ordered the 230s since the climb had them 1/2 off right now.

Re: Need travel shoe recommendation

I run and travel with Teva Mush II flip flops and 54 inch laces from REI. I quit using running shoes about a year ago. I traveled to Rome last summer and ran about 8 to 20 miles per day with friends. We had a great time running around the Tiber River, Colosseum, and Borghese Gardens. To improve traction on snow and ice install four 1/4 inch sheet metal screws in each sole and wear Injinji toe socks to keep your feet warm.
