bad @ math, can you calc. F/O for me?

I just got Fish Oil from Costco today. Kirkland brand, 1 softgel is 1200mg w/ total omega 3's at 684. I weigh 140, so I should take 7 grams (.5g per 10 lbs of body weight). I am going to start out at 3 grams and build up. So am I looking to take 3g of the omega 3's or just the overall F/O? I overthink everything.

Thanks to my searching, I found my answer!!

To clarify, it's the EPA/DHA that you want not the overall mg/ of F/O.

Is it best to take them all at once or spread throughout the day? Does it make any difference?

I use the same one you do and take at breakfast and 4 at dinner. Spreading them out shouldn't make a difference.

Thanks Wayne!! I'm going to take 5 a day (little more than 3grams) to start. I'll probably take 2 in the morning and 3 w/ dinner.

Do you keep them in the frig?

Yes I do. Pop them with a glass of water, sometimes milk. I'm not a strict Paleo.

3 grams of EPA+DHA sounds good. Are you planning to ramp to 7 grams of EPA+DHA? That is a lot of fish oil. Unless you have a specific condition that you are trying to fix with fish oil, I would think 3 grams is enough. Compliment your fish intake with Omega6 reduction (avoid plant seed oils like corn, soy, sunflower) and add fish and grass fed meat to your diet.

Moran, I'm not sure if I'll ramp up or not. Wondering what conditions F/O may "correct".
