I'm not an MD, or anything close to it. I'm a lowly Paramedic. However, I can answer the metabolic syndrome question. Essentially, metabolic syndrome refers to a spectrum of disorders and/or risk factors that make a person more prone to diabetes, heart disease, and other issues. It's not as clearly defined as the later conditions, but will usually include obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) and the like.
Note that almost all of those can be fixed with diet and exercise.

Best summation I've read so far. Really defines scope and symptoms.

Why a new thread when we just discussed it in a different forum? KStar is speaking out of line frankly. We already addressed what inflammation is. Who is inflamed could be from a host of causes. The government has a site that provides inflammation index on good. Look it up.
