GHD Adjustment Question...

How important is it for a GHD's foot plate (w/rollers) to adjust up and down?

I notice that some do and some don't. The original Rogue Abram - for example - has a great reputation but does not adjust. I've never heard anyone discuss this point and I'm not experienced enough to know.

I'm planning to purchase a GHD soon and am wondering how important this feature should be in my search criteria.

Thanks!

Re: GHD Adjustment Question...

For what it's worth, I have an Abrams 2.0 and it does adjust up and down... and I've never adjusted it. Well, I have, and it didn't matter so I put it back and haven't touched that adjustment since.

Thanks John - appreciate the response. How do you like your Abrams 2.0. I've noticed that the 1.0 is on sale right now so leaning that direction just due to cost.

Re: GHD Adjustment Question...

Functionally I don't think there is a difference really. I am completely satisfied with the 2.0 though. It's a great piece of equipment. I imagine I would have been just as happy with the original though. The quick adjustment isn't THAT much quicker, it just looks cooler. Doesn't make GHRs any easier =p

Re: GHD Adjustment Question...

I asked a very similar question in another thread:

http://board.crossfit.com/showthread.php?t=83625 (wfs)

The best answer I got was that adjusting the foot plate height makes little difference in GHD situps and back or hip extensions (common movements in CrossFit). The foot plate height makes more of a difference in glute-ham raises (less commonly used in CrossFit).
