That's DIY at it's best: functional, inexpensive, and esthetic. Well done!
What was your technique to get all the edges rounded like that? Which tools did you use? |

I used a band saw for the overall shape and a router with a roundover bit to round the exposed edges. Lots of hand sanding to smooth it out. Three coats of poly for the finish.

A router makes sense. The rounded edge looks very uniform throughout. Wood is an excellent choice of material, as it won't scratch the barbell finish.
I wish there was a place in my gym for horizontal barbell storage. I'd definitely use this idea. |
