Reading the enthusiasm for the Zone diet on this site is contagious. At this stage in my life, I'm still concerned about performance, but care far less about body image than ever, so the idea of "dieting" kind of bugs me. However, the idea of eating for maximum health and improved sports performance is highly appealing so I wanted to dive further into this.

A co-worker lent me her copy of "Enter the Zone" but found it wasn't agreat entre into methods. So I did a little searching on the Nutrition board to guage opinions on where to start with the Zone. I found this thread and thought I would "bump" it up for anyone else looking for suggestions on getting started:

Marc,
CFJ #21 is the May 04 issue. It explains the Zone and meal plans. Great issue as they all are.

David, don't think of it as a diet but more of a nutrition plan. I tell people I'm on a diet and they stare at me like I'm crazy. I say nutrition plan and I don't have to deal with the " why are you on a diet questions". And truthfully it is a nutrition plan, not a diet. Losing fat and gaining muscle are perks that go with longevity and good health.
