Affiliation Fee, and timing

Hi, just wondering, how long do you have to pay for affiliation? I'm going to sell my motorcycle and affiliate my garage this summer. Training 4 people currently who really love what I do. It's all non profit for now with the understanding that if I affiliate, I'm going to charge them. We've become kind of a family and I finally see what everyone talks about when they rave about the community.

I don't have that liquid cash now and I'm wondering how long I have to pay after I affiliate. Also, can I use CrossFit after accepted or after my fee is paid?

Thanks for all of your advice.

You have to pay BEFORE, in order to be approved.

Re: Affiliation Fee, and timing

When I affiliated a year ago I was accepted then had 3 months to pay and make it official.

Re: Affiliation Fee, and timing

My affiliate was approved in early June and my fee was due 9/1. Hope that helps.

I was thinking this earlier... I got affiliated last week, but paid literally straight away even though the fee's weren't due for 3 months.

When renewal time comes, will it be a year from the date I was quoted or a year from the date I paid?

Cheers

From the day you paid, I paid May 19th last year, and received an email today that my next payment is due May 19th.

Re: Affiliation Fee, and timing

Can someone who has affiliated while having a small number of friends/clients comment on just how "worth-while" it was from a financial aspect?

I'm in a similar set up as the OP in that I've got 6-8 folks at my garage and am considering the affiliation route but wanted to know just how well having that affiliation really drove in the numbers?

Obviously I know it'll depend on a number of factors but I was hoping to get a general sense.

OP, good luck with the garage gym! I'm right there with ya!!!!

Re: Affiliation Fee, and timing

It is worth it! I JUST got linked to the main site yesterday and have had 3 calls from prospective members. Any calls I had gotten previously all started with "are you an official CrossFit gym?" luckily I was able to say I am in the affiliation process and that we will be open once approved so I wasnt forgotten about. Plus with the Games upon us now is a good time to be affiliated. This will be a big year of growth for the community IMHO
