Re: 28mm/man & 25mm/women
when we first started, we only had men's bars.
After we had enough funds to purchase more bars, we got training bars and ladies' bars. I think most places these days start with both. |

Who are your clients? If you have a lot of women, you need women's bars

Yes, who are your clients?
When we started we had 4 mens, 2 womens and 2 training bars. We realized very quickly that we needed more womens and training bars. Now we have about equal mens and womens bars. |

Re: 28mm/man & 25mm/women
Milos,
By way of background, we supply a lot of CrossFit gyms, both newly opened and existing. Historically, Affiliate Owners would only buy 28mm barbells, and let their female clients make due. This was prior to the widespread availability of 25mm barbells; they were an olympic weightlifting specialty item, and as such, were expensive and harder to find. Now, the 25mm barbell is fairly ubiquitous. We carry a popular version, as does Rogue, our main competitor. If you were to ask me what you should do, I'd advise you to buy women's barbells without hesitation. Women are a remarkably large (and remarkably under-served) portion of the CrossFit Community, and the proportion of women choosing our type of training is only growing. You ignore that fact at your peril. Hope that helps! |

Re: 28mm/man & 25mm/women
thank you all.
we plan to start the box. as of interest so far, i presume that it would be more women then man. so that is why i ask, so that we can plan our budget more precise. |

Re: 28mm/man & 25mm/women
The 25mm bars are also useful for kids, older lifters, beginners, warmups, etc. basically anyone looking to start with a lighter load on the bar.
