30 and 40 inch Plyo box

Has anyone taken the Plyo Box instructions from CFJ #49 and scaled them to 30" and 40"? I'd be interested to How much wider you need to go to maintain the same load capacity.

Re: 30 and 40 inch Plyo box

as long as you stick to the 10 degree angle for the sides, you should have no problems with the boxes. i have built over 100 boxes and have a pretty good system. when marking the sides of your 30" box, the bottom should be 10 5/16 bigger than the top. the side should be 29 11/16 from long point of the bevel on the bottom to the short of the bevel on the top. for the sides of a 40" box, the bottom should be 13 13/16 bigger on the bottom than the top. and the long to short for the bevels is 39 7/8. i hope that this helps. email me with any questions you may have on this.

Aaron,

This is awesome. Exactly what I was looking for. Already started on building the 30" Box. I'll send you back the little tweaks I made after I'm done.

Re: 30 and 40 inch Plyo box

i am actually building some boxes tonight. my 30" box has a 17"x17" top. on two sides the top is 17" and the bottom is 27 5/16". and the other two sides are 15 1/2" on top and 25 13/16 on the bottom. i build sets of these boxes and i have designed them so that they will nest perfectly inside each other. usually the set consists of 12,16,20,24, and 30 inch boxes. i get them to nest by using diferent sized tops. i use 15x15 for the 12", and then increase the size by 1/2" on each of the bigger boxes. it works really well. here is a pic of the 24" box down.
