Trans Fat illegal in CA.

Heard a friend say that California is banning trans fat starting Jan 1 2010. Anyone know anything about this?

Great, more big government. So much for laissez faire. Health laws brought to you by the same people that came up with the Food Pyramid

I agree. Why not require some kind of full disclosure labeling and allow the market to decide.

Re: Trans Fat illegal in CA.

And we have a winner. THats what I always thought. You tell me what's in the food and I'll decide if I want to eat it or not.

Same thing with smoking. If a place is no smoking or has a ventilation system made by Dyson, I'll go there. If it has smoking I won't. If smoking places can stay in business, fine. If Non smoking stay in business, fine. Just don't pass a law about it.

Re: Trans Fat illegal in CA.

Doesn't CA also have labels on bottled water listing it as possibly carcinogenic?

+1. I don't need a big government nanny telling me what to eat. Make the information available to me so I can decide for myself.
