Starting For newcomers to the CrossFit methodology

what are some good numbers to shoot for as a beginner for pull ups?

also i seen someone write on here that if you can work up to 40+ pull ups and 60+ dips straight you should start to see a significant increase in your muscular size? are these numbers accurate?

Hi Franco,

Welcome to Crossfit. As far as setting goals for pull-ups and dips, it will vary from person to person. However, I do think Coach mentioned something about being able to do 15 pull-ups and 15 dips before attempting a muscle-up, so that may be a good place to start. When you start to reach the levels you mention above (40+ pull-ups and 60+ dips) I think you're bound to see an increase in muscular size and, more importantly, functionality - just look at most gymnasts.
