What's going on in England?

I liked these paragraphs:
Quote:
"We have cereal for breakfast, bacon butties for lunch and microwave pies with mashed potato or chips for dinner," Mrs Chawner told Closer magazine.

"All that healthy food, like fruit and veg, is too expensive. We're fat because it's in our genes. Our whole family is overweight," she added.

Re: I thought only Americans were fat?

Last time I checked brocoli, green beans, spinach, and most meat is cheaper than the junk you get in the US or the UK.

Microwave pies and chips every night, would this be the same as say, quarter pounder w/ cheese and fries. I think some people don't have their priorities straight.

Wow they say their fat and can't work, I say their lazy and don't want to work. Fat people can work, I do it 5 days a week.

This is when you need a monarch to say, "Off with their heads!"

Re: I thought only Americans were fat?

It's not their fault. Their government has disrupted nature's coping mechanism. In the wild, if you get too fat to work, you starve, you lose weight until you can work again, problem solved!

I love the Brits and nearly everything about England, but English food really is god-awful stuff.

Reminds me of an old military joke: In NATO Heaven, the Brits are policemen, the French are cooks, the Italians are lovers, the Swiss are mechanics, and Germans organize everything. In NATO Hell, the Germans are policemen, the Brits are cooks, the Swiss are lovers, the French are mechanics, and Italians organize everything.

What's a "bacon buttie?" Sounds like something Jay Cohen would make?
