Re: My Wild Adventure - Pics as well

August 18, 2008

Day: 146

WOD:

Tabata Something Else

Pull-ups (Assisted with Black Strap from Iron Woody)
8/7/6/5/4/4/3/3 = 40
Push-ups
10/10/10/10/10/9/6/6 = 71
Sit-ups (anchored)
13/13/13/12/10/10/11/10 = 92
Squats
20/14/15/12/10/11/11/12 = 105

Total = 308

Wow that was a lot of fun. Wish I would have done better on the pull-ups but yesterdays WOD really killed me with having to do 108 pull-ups, was kind of sore. But This was the best I have done on tabata pull-ups. Push-ups I was beat (plus the dips from yesterday had me sore prior to this) wish I could have done better. I have done better in the past. Sit-ups were good but probably could have pushed harder. By the time the squats came my body was beat. Could not get the energy I needed to keep going with them. My last tabata squats was 125 so I really dropped the ball there. All in all I'm happy with my score looking forward to doing it again really soon.

Re: My Wild Adventure - Pics as well

August 19, 2008

Day: 147

Warm-Up:
Run 400m
Row 1k
Run 400m
Row 1k
(Rested for about 1 minute between each.. Ran as fast as I could for the 400m)

WOD:
Deadlift 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1
235/245/250/255/260/265/265PR

On May 14th my highest was 240lbs.. I really improved a lot. Could have gone higher but had no more weight to put on my stupid bar. Looking into buying a new OYL bar and additional weight! But as for now I can deadlift every weight in my house!!! I am thinking I could have made it up to 280 for sure, maybe higher.

August 20, 2008

Well deserved rest day. Wanted to do some running drills today, but when I fell asleep after work I figured it would be wise to have a full rest day today.

August 21, 2008

Day: 149

WARM-UP:
2 Rounds
10 OHS 45lb
10 Good Mornings 45lb
10 Push-ups
10 GHD sit-ups
10 Bench Dips

WOD:
Helen
3 Rounds
Run 400m
40lb Dumbbell Swing x 21
12 Pull-ups (Assisted with Black Strap From Iron Woody)

Time: 14:02 PR

Last time I did this one it took me 14:31.. So I beat it by 30 seconds. I am really proud of that. I was not feeling well before this workout so to hit it hard was a shock to me. I did the runs with no walking which is huge for me. The swings I was good on the 1st set the next 2 I broke into 15reps and 5 reps. The Pull-ups were killer after the swings. Was about to do them in sets of 6. Next Time I will easily break 14 minutes.

Re: My Wild Adventure - Pics as well

August 25, 2008

Day: 153

WOD:
1/2 Murph
Run 1/2 mile
50 pull-ups (assisted with black strap from Iron woody)
100 Push-ups
150 Squats
Run 1/2 Mile

Time: 28:07PR

Improvement:
5/5/08 - 1/2 Murph Jumping pull-ups 41:35
8/25/08 - 1/2 Murph Assited pull-ups 28:07

Yikes I really improved on this one. Next time I will be doing a 3/4 Murph. Time would have been much much better but I was so burnt out on the last 1/2 mile run. It was bad, my lungs were burning my legs said no and my heart was screaming. Somehow I did not give up! Really feel awesome about this one.

Great job on the triple PR cycle, Mike!

Keep it up! How far away do you think you are from losing the pullup bands?

Thanks! I didn't even notice it was 3 PRs in a row. Really happy about the progress I'm making.

Well I have three bands, I'm using the heaviest one now. I'm going to move to the middle one once I drop 5 more lbs. Still weigh 250lbs even though I keep getting skinnier the weight doesn't come down, guessing thats muscle. Hopefully it should be only a month or so using the middle band before I move on to the smallest one.

Current goal is to lose the bands for good, at least for the lower rep WODs by December. Not sure I will make this one, but I started taking my diet seriously again so the extra lbs should fly off.
