I found myself bored out of my mind and then, Crossfit landed in my lap (and on my shoulders, quads, hamstrings, abs, etc!)

I've only been at it about a month, but have found it the most challenging thing I've ever done! I had heard about CF from another gym junkie about a year ago. After a quick peek at this website, I laughed then turned and ran. As I recall, that day the WOD involved a massive number of pull-ups. Ah, the pull-up! It's haunted me for years now. It's at the very center of why I returned to CF. I will master it!

So within a few short weeks, I had my first pull-up (okay that was only about a week ago and I can still only do one, single, puny, dead-hang, overhand grip pull-up!). I was elated! Decided to keep a log beginning today since "Angie" was such a monster for me!

Angie
100 Pull-ups (started with pink woody bands then blue, then green)
100 Push-ups (all manly style, but broken sets)
100 Ab Mat sit-ups, unanchored
100 Squats. dynamax depth
19:40

20 min of globo cardio (can't help myself)
It is only a matter of time and the amoount of dedication. I commend you on your new conquest. ) By the way, do you know what windmills are?

I'm a hands-on person and wanted to learn more about the game, so I joined a women's soccer league. Played for one season and almost died! There weren't enough subs!

Colleen, I see you play yourself. What a great sport!
That's funny. I've misunderstood the term too - never really knew what it meant but figured that being a Mom who plays soccer qualified me. I love soccer I'm TERRIBLE, but found a great rec league. Can't wait to play Sunday. Yaaaa, I don't bake, make banners or plan kiddie parties. At least no kiddie parties yet. Maybe when she's older she can have a CF BDay party. Wear all the kids out for their parents.

I can see you now...CF B-day party..."Okay kids! Listen up! Before you get cake and ice cream, you need to do 50 air squats and 20 pushups"

Re: A Soccer Mom's Log

Aha.

I LOVE that soccer mom means you PLAY soccer.

That 15% BF will change. Probably won't be easy because that's still relatively low for a woman...but I'm sure it'll happen. Gotta go follow your zone thread now. Ha...

Re: A Soccer Mom's Log

Thanks Erin! I've checked your log out too. Great work!

Today's Workout
Couldn't do the WOD since I did Fran yesterday. Too repetitive!
So I pulled together my own WOD using things I love and hate.

"Love/Hate"
Warmup: Jumprope and stretch
BP: 45#x15(2 sets), 95#x8(2 sets),105#x5(1 set), 115#x2 (2 sets)-Could've gone higher but had a terrible spotter. Too scared.
OHS: 55#x12 (4 sets) with foul language
KBS: 35#DBx10 (4 sets), love these...feel like an amazon doing them!
Dips: 3-5 unassisted reps (4 sets)- more foul lingo
AbMat Situps: 3 sets of 30 (not sure how many bc some guy kept trying to chat with me even though my ipod was plugging my ears)
Back Ext: 20 reps/3 sets
Globo-Cardio: 30 min total of C2, bike, stepmill, elliptical ,zzzzzz (I have terrible C-ADHD, cardio-attention deficit hyperactive disorder, so I keep moving around. HR never got over 122bpm. Have a low resting HR of about 44bpm. Only intervals and sprints get it up there. Need VO2 Max soon.)
Can't wait for the Rest Day tomorrow. Hope my rings get here although I have no idea where I'll hang them. Maybe yoga (Bikram) tomorrow.

Ooooh, rings. You'll love them. I love mine. Wanted to hang them in the bedroom (cathedral ceiling) but hubby said no. His sense of adventure is a little lacking sometimes. lol
