I am totally pumped for this fight! I hope they both remain injury free until November. My prediction is Silva by KO in the second, as he is just too strong and aggressive for Chuck's style.

The only advantage I see Liddell having is that the rules are different in the UFC as opposed to Pride ie. no knees to the head of a downed opponent, no foot stomps or kicks to a downed opponent. As far as the cage verses the ring, I don't see much of a difference because they are both predominantly strikers and not grapplers.

No relation, but it showcased the disparity between Pride fighters and UFC fighters:

Although it did show a disparity, I think there is just as big a disparity between Leben and Liddell as well...

Wanderlei will definately win, and probably standing up. His knees are devastating stand up. I'm going to agree and say KO second round to knee strikes.

I'm glad PRIDE and the UFC got together and put this fight together for us- it only helps the sport. Of course the stipulation is Lidell has to beat Bobalou(sp)

As far as the Leben goes- he's not to the standard of top UFC fighters never mind PRIDE fighters.

I agree that Leben is mediocre at best, but how many UFC fighters would do well in Pride? My picks would be:

Rich Franklin
George St. Pierre
BJ Penn
Matt Hughes
Chuck Liddell
David Loiseau (maybe)
Tito Ortiz (maybe)
Ken Shamrock (just kidding)

I can't think of anyone else and that is a sad testament to the lack of depth in the UFC.

Another dream match up would be Tim Sylvia vs Fedor for the undisputed heavyweight championship, with of course Tim getting his *** handed to him.

Don't forget, Phil Baloni was a scrub in UFC...but is doing quite well in Pride.

My money is on Silva...look that he did to Rampage Jackson.

Chris - only relation is that they both fight out of Chute Boxe, their whole team is outstanding.

I'm gonna let Chuck take this one fight at a time and wait for his fight against Renato. Babalu has become a much better fighter since their last encounter. Last I read (which was awhile ago) he was training at Gracie Barra for his ground game and taking care of standup at OC Muay Thai. Should be a very entertaining fight. Chuck just needs to bury that shin into Babalu's head again.

Jason - I too would love to see Model 2.9 make Sylvia look absoloutely ridiculous.

Except Anderson Silva hasn't fought for Chute Boxe for like couple of years. He has his own team: http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/fightfinder.asp?search=yes&association=Muay+T hai+Dream+Team
