I usually do the WOD with my friend Ted but because he can't/won't run (knees) he is going to sub rowing. This gave me a fairly fun idea.

I think I am going to do the first 800m running to get a time, and then the second round row for that amount of time and the third round bike for that time (or maybe add a minute each time).

If I could, I would swim instead of row (a la Ironman) but I am going to make due with what I can do at the gym.

What do you guys think of that plan?

I like it - variety is the key. Although it wouldn't necessarily be "michael", but it would be dang hard and would be a good mix in disciplines to put the hurt on. Just go all out, no half stepping on the row and bike. Post your end result, I'd like to know how it went.

Well, I did the first round as a run (4:30 for 800m). I had to walk one lap but it was a PR (this is only my 3rd week in of CrossFit).

The second round I rowed 4:30 at a 2:02 500/m pace.

Third round was 4:30 biking at 20mph with resistance at 12.

Total time was 28:42. I felt pukey checking in. Really pleased with my effort.

I like the idea of variance. BTW I love that avatar, I used to use it on my old WoW forum. =D

Good job, Jason. I'll have to give that a go sometime soon. Nice way to think out of the box. Speaking of out of the box, I spent about 5 minutes staring at your avatar guys shenanigans....crazy....
