Use a box cutter and a straight edge, Spray a line with wd40, cut your line, spray into the little cut, put a block under the mat to lift it, respray the line and go to town.... easy!

I think I heard somewhere a jigsaw would work a lot easier.

I think a jig saw would gum up pretty quickly. It's not that hard with a razor knife if you make a few passes and keep bending the mats as you go.

This is exactly right. Make a couple passes over your line with the box cutter and some type of straight edge (we used a steel square). Then place a 4x4 or something similar underneath the cut to make the rubber bend away at the cut. This makes it really easy to finish the cut.

Be prepared for a long day though, they are beastly.

Re: 3/4 Inch Rubber mat flooring

Get a bunch of fresh razor blades for the box knife...and if you don't have one...borrow or buy a drywall T-Square for your straight edge.

With sharp blades it goes quickly.

The WD40 sounds like a good tip. I didn't think of that, but that might make it even easier.

seriously, I am a firm believer in the WD40, we did the whole floor and had to to cut 12 mats, we used a total of two blades.
