Affiliating, Insurance, Level 1, etc.
Hopefully this in the right place. If not, my apologies.
The questions are about level 1 Cert, Affiliating and most importantly, Insurance. 1. Do you need to be Crossfit Level 1 Certified first before you can apply for affiliation? 2. As an affiliate, do you need an actual commercial space/box or do the ol' days of garage gym qualify and allow affiliation? 3. The big question. I have heard/read the smallest bit about insurance for Crossfit affiliates. Other benefits of affiliating aside; at this time, the big reason for looking into being an affiliate is for access to insurance. That leads to the next question. Do you even need to be an affiliate in order to be eligible for their insurances options/plans, etc? I am going to be branching out in the near future with possible high school level athletes (want to be covered when it deals with working with someone's prospective all-american DIV 1 child), those with possible medical concerns/higher risk clients, etc. and while I have personal trainer insurance, various liability/waiver things going on, I am looking into making sure I am as efficiently and effectively covered insurance wise so... the crossfit insurance thing is where I am at. All of this being said, are you satisfied with the insurance that Crossfit provides? Whether you've had to use it or not, do you feel their are other/better options for you when it comes to insurance if the bad stuff were to happen - someone gets hurt. Do you feel secure/confident? Thanks for any help! - Richard |

As far as I know
Yes you need to be level 1 before affiliating. You can affiliate out of a garage Call Vaughn at Affiliate Guard. |

Re: Affiliating, Insurance, Level 1, etc.
Stop by (best between 4:30 and 7:00 PM), introduce yourself and talk to me. I'm meeting Thursday with my Tenant Rep and a builder on our expansions.
Will have at least two separate training rooms when we are done. One will be the big CrossFit room. The second will be set up for small CF classes, CrossFit Kids, Oly platforms and strength work. Depending on what you want to do you might be able to do it in my gym, under my insurance. If I can spread my fixed cost over another program it could be good for me and good for you. You get the kids and I'll take their Moms. We are about 1 mile north of the Stadium. |
