problems in training quantities

Hi! My mission is to join finnish special forces tests in february 2013 and I am going to achieve it by crossfit. I failed it last time by 8 seconds overtime in running test. (Finnish "special forces" are not the same as any other country's forces, it is just a harder "school" what all male finns must do)

I train at an affiliate here in Finland and we train with 3+1 cycle. My problem is that my training doesn't include enough running, and I have problems fitting it to my schedule as it ruins my rest/train ratio. So, I would like to hear your opinion how to train enough running beside crossfit.

And if you want to know the running test is 5000m running with 10 kilos and the last 3000m will be competition which must be accomplished within time(14min 30sec) The test also includes swimming, skiing and some other tests.

Thanks ahead!

The only thing I would do, is to add something to your warmups at your affiliates, add some 400m sprints in when time permits, if not longer. Show up to your affiliate 30m before class and run a few miles as well.

Sounds like bodyweight oriented WOD's, running, and swimming would be the best preparation for you. Maybe follow the Crossfit Endurance site.
