Re: 2016 Games Banter...starting off with Murph
You're right. Bridges is short and solid muscle. Small may not be the right word.
By the way, I'm the same height as Rich Froning... and 40 pounds of muscle lighter... |

400lb snail push isn't all that exciting for a final portion of an event

Ring handstand push-ups --still a terrible idea.
And apparently the men have to do a muscle-up to get into the handstand position? Think I'll just catch the highlights for event 9 |

Re: 2016 Games Banter...starting off with Murph
Uuuuggghhhhh. The ring hstpu were brutal to watch. I felt bad for the athletes and judges alike.
Boon just posted on her Facebook- torn Achilles. That sucks. She seemed in good spirits and wants to do the handstand walk. I thought the box jump over version we saw at regionals was a good option. No rebounding there. Still pulling for Ben to maintain second. I think first is a bit too far gone. It almost looks like Webb has lost her fire. I though 100% would be her workout. I hope she's ok. I was really surprised at Wells in the separator. I didn't expect her to do so well on the rings. Reading Filowski's record is almost comical! Three first place finishes and 4 at 28 or lower. |

Re: 2016 Games Banter...starting off with Murph
the ring handstand pushups while cool in theory just had too many judging issues
Box jumps, again dangerous at that speed and so it showed This is the first year where the games hasn't felt bigger and better than before. And judging by how few posts there are on this thread, i'm not the only one who thinks this There has been no creativity in the events, just the same old movements in different permutations The bottleneck in the berm runs at the stadium is unacceptable and dave's hair is just a bad joke Matt fraser has been amazing and the woman are at least close |

Re: 2016 Games Banter...starting off with Murph
Or at least cool it down a bit. I like the idea, but come on, how many events can you use it for?
I agree, after Castros speech at the opening dinner I thought it was going to be either really good or really stupid. So far it's just been same old CrossFit. That being said, I have liked all but the ring hspu. Good movements and good tests all around. After so long, there is only so much you can do. |
