does chlorine corrode watch bands or other watch parts?
I have a G-Shock with (I believe) a resin band that I want to start wearing when I do my lap swimming.
Will the chlorine from swimming pools break down the band or perhaps even the watch itself, like maybe the water resistance seals? |

I highly doubt it would cause a problem. I can't recall any wacth I have even owned being affected by chlorine or bromine (in the case of some spas).
Just a side note my father has always had a problem with the acidity of his sweat that he regularly corrodes the steel cases of watches. |

I believe this can be caused by a nickel allergy and a reaction with the nickel content in the metal. I react to the nickel in the metal they use to make a lot of glass frames, so I go with plastic temples.

An allergic reaction to nickel never thought that could or would be the deal.
Good to know. John |
