Running WODs make me temper fit angry. Not even lucid I'm so ****ed off. It's pretty ridiculous.

Re: Where's the Girl Power?

Jamie, that is just weird.

I don't especially like running, but I do it fairly regularly so that I don't lose what I've got. During WOD's, I just run. I don't usually push for speed unless the run is the entire workout.

Re: Where's the Girl Power?

Love running and always like to see it in the WODs. Before I found CF, I had made up my own run/lift run/situps run/pushups etc routines.

Now burpees, well I suck at them, so they are not my favorite.

Jumping rope - it is getting better since I got a PowerMax (thank you Tamara) but I think it is too long for me and I don't think it is adjustable - so may have to re-evaluate my equipment there. The standard jropes at the gym are lame.

Glad to have found all of you wonderful people. Thanks for helping to keep my motivation up!

Last running WOD we had took me three tries to start because I hate running THAT much. I'll cheerfully do it on the baseball field, or chasing my kids, but in a WOD? **** you very much no thank you.

Re: Where's the Girl Power?

I hate running, too. So I think I'm going to train for a 5K. I'm also forcing myself to do double unders everyday after my WOD. Right now, I've worked my way up to doing 2 in a row. Whoever invented them needs to be whipped with the doggone jumprope. SADIST!

But, to answer Tamara about something good goin' down: I kept up with the boys in my class last night doing deadlifts with a 1 pood kettlebell.

That, fair ladies, made me feel like a rock star.

Re: Where's the Girl Power?

I know this won't be a big deal to most of you buuuuuutttt

on 8/6 I couldn't OHS 35 pounds. I got down to the bottom and sat right down. I've been crossfitting less than 2 months and have had a huge problem with squats. I tore my left hip flexor and right quad on multiple occasions playing soccer, both as a teenager and adult.

But today. Today's WOD was 21-15-9 OHS and burpees and I did all the OHS with 35lbs. That's a big f-ing deal for me considering when I started in July I couldn't even get below parallel doing air squats.

Its nice to see myself improving

Congrats to you BOTH!!! It doesn't matter what "level" we are at in our personal CF situation, as long as we are pushing ourselves to do better each and everytime and succeeding- while boosting our self confidence and making ourselves proud! Such an awesome feeling!!!

Re: Where's the Girl Power?

Great job Alix and Christine!!

Alix - I hate double unders too. I've been practicing them a little extra in my warm up (along with pull ups) because I'm determined to beat them! We can do it!!

Re: Where's the Girl Power?

Awesome work ladies!!
I struggled with double unders soooo bad. Last summer I remember trying them for soo long and all I got was whipped calves!!! I bought a new jump rope from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Aero-Speed-Hyp...226362&sr=8-11 (wfs)
and I can't even tell you how much a difference it made for me!!!
Last week I did 30 in a row!!! you all can do it!!!
