300 Challenge

I entered a 300 Challenge getting put on at Ruston, LA at Louisiana Tech University. Never done, pretty stoked about it. If you finish it in less than 40 minutes you get a t-shirt. If that's no reason to torture yourself, what is?? Anyway, never done floor wipers before. Any advice, think I need to do some, or think that its possible to get 50 first time around?

Re: 300 Challenge

Just answered this on your other post...and FYI the mods don't like crossposting the same thread on multiple forums.

Less than 40 minutes?

Wow. We had a cap last year at 30. Fastest time was just over 12.

I hope they have a lot of t-shirts.

Re: 300 Challenge

I second that they'd best have a lot of T-shirts. I did the "300" workout for kicks and got it done in 23:02. A HUGE chunk of that time was used up doing the C&J's, but I used a 75 lb bar rather than a 35 lb dumbell, which means twice the work and I couldn't switch arms.

hardest part of the floor wipers was keeping the bar in the air.

If you're posting anywhere near the mid-pack on the comments pages, you'll have time to take a shower and drive home with your new shirt by the time they stop the clock.

Re: 300 Challenge

Today was the big day. Got 18:14. I was sattisfied, got my T-shirt (LOL). Next time I will not accept anything less than something in the 15s. It was fun, had a big turn out. A lot of the frat boy types there figured out that all those curls in the mirror and calves they knock out weren't of much assistance. Some dude puked some flourescent green stuff, which I'm sure was some ridiculous supplement that obviously didn't help him enough. Maybe I'm a sick-o, but it made me happy to watch.

Re: 300 Challenge

The easiest part for me was the deadlifts, I was able to knock them out with the quickness, felt as though I made up a lot of time there. I think the most difficult part, embarrasingly enough, was the 2nd set of pull-ups. I felt like I had a little person (that's me being pc) hanging off of me, just gassed. I WANT A BIGGER TANK!!! It really was a cool experience though, doing a WOD as a competition. I love the pressure of everyone watching and heckling. Good times. I gave CrossFit a bunch of plugs...while 18:14 is not impressive on this website, apparentally it is to non-CrossFitters.
