Re: A Bears Tale

5 April 2010

North European Sectional WOD

15-12-9
62.5k Squat Clean
Pull Ups Chest 2 bar - 6.50

These quick heavy workouts are still my biggest weakness, much better at 10+ minute workouts so need more of these over next few weeks.

HSPU's narrow - 10/6/6/6 - on plates 3/3/2

Double Under practice - useless, most I got was 20.

Push Press - 50k x 3 x 15 (3 sets of fifteen reps)

Richard - went after your time but no chance today, hopefully Im still hung over , had an evil burn in my throat and took longer than usual to recover, almost 10 mins which is long for me. Real nasty workout.

Re: A Bears Tale

Good worktoday mate! The squat clean/c2b wod looks like a nice quick lung burner! Glad to see you are attacking the weaknesses more often. I'm gonna do short heavy metcons more often too as that's also a weakness of mine.

Thanks Ernie, that sectional WOD was real nasty, you got to give it a go, I got the first 15 squat cleans without putting the bar down but after that it was 5,4,3 for the 12 and 4,3,2 for the 9, just burned out.

Very tough lift (WOD) Scott! How is the body now? Pretty sore?

Feeling quite fresh thanks Nick, that workout done more damage to the lungs than anything else, just like Fran a real burner. Had a rare rest day yesterday also.

Re: A Bears Tale

Good work out the clean pullup workout Scott. It looks tough. That 62.5k gets hard fast.

I hope you had a good Easter.

After I did it, I tried to walk around for 2 minutes but I was KO, so I went on to roll on the floor. Serious lung burner, glad that you did it!

Definitely important that you hit those short max output wods more often. I think it's probably the first round that might have burned you out a little, 15 straight cleans + the pullups is taxing. I broke my first round in 2 for each movement, focusing on minimal rest.

Agree on being KO'd it even affected my HSPU's afterwards and the WOD was almost pure pulling, shows its a good one to revisit. You definately right, those short max workouts bite me , especially when they do not involve any pushing.

Looking back I was at 1.40 after the 15's so probably went off to fast, best place to make those mistakes is in training still.
