Re: To Chiro or Not Chiro
I was not able to pick up whether or not sarcasm was involved there. I see an MD and he is pretty inline with me. I go to a PT for injuries, and if I had spine issues, I might go see a chiro. I don't think they are a substitute for each other. OP, your chiro sounds like he might be making business for himself.

Re: To Chiro or Not Chiro
I think in the OP, I would run-run-run FAR away! Unfortunately many of the chiropractors that I have dealt with have been of this type. The "evidence-based chiro" that I've heard so much about I have dealt with very little if at all. When I was in college, we had one that came into the ATR each week and then was around as needed throughout the year. He was a great guy and somebody we would gladly send our athletes to with back problems.

Re: To Chiro or Not Chiro
Thanks for all the responses, the original pain is gone and I'm back to normal. At the risk of adding fuel to the fire, I came across the following website (WFS) http://www.chirobase.org/.
Thanks, |

Re: To Chiro or Not Chiro
I am kinda biased and sold on the P.T. modality. I think first to see what they can do for me as I have corrected two debilitating injuries through p.t. no placebo involved. As with all professions, you are going to have some quacks, but I suspect that for the purpose of pain relief and education on proper positioning, D.C.'s have a place.

Re: To Chiro or Not Chiro
Have so few people actually had good experiences with chiros? I don't see mine right now, because I don't have to, but they helped me out with some issues and I'm a lot better for it.

Re: To Chiro or Not Chiro
Megan,
Thanks for all the posts. I think I'm sensing sarcasm on your last post, but I'm not positive. The website I mentioned provided some interesting arguments, I would be very interested in your opinion or point of view on the info contained on that website. The only thing that I'm sure of is that I don't need a chiro for my OP problem. I, however, am open to all opinions and arguments. Thanks, |
