Re: Abdominal strength program

Eat and drink in moderation.

Add 4 sets of 60 sit-ups/crunches and leg-lifts during your warm-up or cool-down. That's what I did, as a globo gym-rat.

Wha?

Great thread btw, I need to incorporate some of this. I can do GHD till the cows come home but anything L, or even K2E fry my abs. Some good warmup/skill work ideas in here.

Re: Abdominal strength program

You can do floorwipers. 20 reps. Start at 135 and work your way up to max or do 225 across. Follow it up with some swings.

Re: Abdominal strength program

I will third- or fourth or fifth, I lost count- the ab wheel roll-out.

When you can get 20 on your knees, but some weight in a back pack on your back. When you can do a lot of weight on your knees, move to your feet. You will likely still not be able to do it on your feet, so just go as far as you can and either touch a wall and reverse it, or flop on the ground and get off the ground as soon as possible.

I don't have a GHD so I can only do sit-ups to about 200 degrees, but nothing else comes close to that ab wheel.

Of course, if you want to look pretty (no such thing as toning), get skinny.

U recommend crossfit type sit-ups or crunches for the 60 reps?

Or doesn't matter, do 60 reps of any ab exercise?

Re: Abdominal strength program

Someone said

"I want to tone my abs"

and there was no dog pile saying

"there is no tone, only stronger and weaker"

Is this CF or BB.com, I get confused sometimes.
