Ex-Navy Nuclear Engineering Laboratory Technician,

Still doing the same thing in commercial Nuclear Plant 30 years later:

Chemistry Control & Radiation Protection Technician (CaRP)

Can you say "Intercoupled Plasma" metals analysis, or
High Purity germanium semiconductor gamma ray spectroscopy?

I am not a nerd (ahem), but I have served and worked with quite a few.

Re: Can anyone science geek-out with me?

I'm a Biology major taking the pre-reqs I need to go to Physical Therapy School. Should start a program next fall. I only declared a major so I could transfer my undergrad hours in order to get priority scheduling. I have a BS in Finance and was a Field Artillery officer so I am somewhat of a math nerd, so I feel I fit in a little.

Re: Can anyone science geek-out with me?

I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace concentration.

Then I got tired of sitting in an office, and am a few months from graduating with a degree in Nursing. I like the nursing classes way more from the standpoint of the A&P, chemistry, pharmacololgy, nutrition, pathophysiology, ect than I do from the "nursing process" stuff.

Plenty of geeks here!

I get 95% of them. When science and math stuff pops up that I don't get I research it to get a little bit of knowledge on the subject. The only thing I don't get, nor care to get, is the programming stuff.

I'm a Nuclear Engineer, which I will argue any day of the week sounds way cooler than chemical or mechanical engineering
