I was profiled in my local paper for a "fitness profile" and had the chance to plug Crossfit in the piece. As soon as I get the scanner to work correctly or the newspaper website is not down, I will post the profile here.

Good on you Jay -

How's the rugby coming along? Did your teammates stick with the power clean / pushup challenge you put on them? (if my memory serves me correctly) Enquiring minds need to know!

Pat...no they didn't. LOL!!

Rugby is going well. I am moving to Long Island in a few days so I will be playing up there from now on. A better Division (1 compared to 2) and I am excited about that.

Jay

Good luck up in Long Island - from the sounds of a recent GoffonRugby article, they could use your fitness! And lord knows, tightheads are always a big demand for club teams.

I'm going to give the power clean/pushup workout a try with my team - I'm slowly trying to get them into shape for the competitive season in the spring - maybe a cash prize will work!

Best of luck

Thanks, Pat.

Right now I am in a bulking stage, so I'm up to 278 in bodyweight. No extra "baggage" with that. In about 2 weeks that will be over so then I will work on fitness and start tbat power clean/pushup workout again...

Oh, the pain... :-)

Jay and Pat,
I don't recall this PC/push-up workout. Can ya'll fill me in.

As far as tightheads being in demand, a little story:
I moved from Nashville to Baltimore in September for a few month work assignment. I have played mainly tight head with Nashville for the last 4-5 years. I went to practice with the Baltimore D1 club(Baltimore-Chesapeake Brumbies) on the first Tuesday night I was available, missed practice thursday, that Saturday I played 80 minutes as A-side tighthead vs. PAC as other props were unavailable. It was interesting, as I knew few(none) of their calls prior to warmups.

I traveled to play two games with Nashville, and am heading to DC tomorrow to play with Baltimore(B-side most likely) to play the Exiles before settling down and training for the winter.
