installing a wall mount pull up bar

Pardon my ignorance about home improvement projects, but I'm considering installing a wall mount pull up bar in my apartment above a doorway. The doorway/wall in question was not part of the original layout of the apartment, so it's not a load bearing wall nor is it constructed of masonry. Would this affect how securely I could install the bar?

Any suggestion on how to install the bar secure enough for kipping?

Re: installing a wall mount pull up bar

Find the woods studs (if they are wood and not metal) and get some lag bolts. Bolt your bar to the wall and you should be good to go...
