Re: it's in the jeans

Hello Gents!
I am usually on the BrandX site, and my local affiliate site. I wanted to post here to share my enthusiasm with others "my age"!

I started working out last April and was running every day and doing Push ups and Pull ups, In three months time I went from a ballooning 210lbs to 190 and managed to get myself from couldn't jog 300yrds to running a 1.5m in 13minutes and strugged to do 25pu and 35 situps--THEN I WAS INTRODUCED TO CF!!! I have been working out ever since Sept 2 a minumum of 5 days a week and I have leveled off at between 175-78lbs. I am still running 10-15 miles a week +CF and my greatest accomplishment is I have introduced more then 15 to CF and many are "hooked" like me to the new lifestyle of fitness.

Thanks to all of you for your inspiration and my Praises go out to the founders and followers!!
Keep up the great work!!

PS--it has been fun giving away over 30 pairs of 38/30' pants and XL shirts and fitting into "fitted M/L shirts" and 32-34 pants.

Be Blessed!
Chaplain-Tim

Thanks, Walker! You should get your box to let y'all take a shot at that one again. We're having a great time reminiscing about "the bad old days" of our pre-Crossfit fitness and then killing our old times.

Tim - Wow, what a change. From 210 in April to 175 nine months later. How proud you must be!!

I look forward to offloading my wardrobe eventually as well. I'm just about to the point now where I have to get rid of all of my pants.

For the record, just two weeks after writing the above, I went out today and bought two pair of size 38's. One is just a little too snug (for now), but the other fits pretty darned well.

This is the first time I have been in 38's in probably close to 20 years.

Re: it's in the jeans

I was wandering around in a thrift shop and happily took a few dirty looks from some college aged girls who were going to the jeans rack in the sections several sizes up from me. Little do they know that when I was their age, I was going to the rack a couple sizes larger than what they were looking at. Sure, I'll look at those size 4 designer jeans.

There is something uniquely satisfying about fitting into smaller jeans, that is not the case for other kinds of clothing.

Bad form to quote oneself, I know, but I'll do it anyhow. Sue me.

At the end of January, I got into 38's for the first time in 20+ years. Seven weeks later, I'm just about ready for 36's. It'll be "relaxed fit" 36's -- which I still interpret, for right or wrong, as "fat 36's" -- , but 36's nonetheless.

That's from tight size 42's in late October to reasonably-fitting 36's in (let's just say) early April.

Little things like this just make my day.

Re: it's in the jeans

I wore size 42" in 2004. I think I was 40" by early 2006, and 34" near the end of that year. I've been 34" ever since, although now they're a little loser, and I've got some 32"s which don't kill my.... soliders. My wife likes me to wear the 32"s but I refuse to sacrifice my nuts for looking better, so I keep using the 34"s. However, that's about to change. Hopefully in the very near future I'll post a testimonial myself (and her) with pics. It's in the works.

I've never owned a scale though. The jeans tell me how fat/thin I'm getting.

Re: it's in the jeans

My goal is to have to 2 sizes larger to accommodate my legs and butt. I'm about 1 size and alittle more right now.

Re: it's in the jeans

I started crossfit squeezing into 38 jeans. I am now comfortably in 36. Hoping for 34's soon.
I am also in my shorts again that I have not worn for 2 summers.
