Lashley apparently wanted a lot of money from the UFC.

edit: here is an update on more info from Kimbo being on TUF - WFS

Re: Kimbo on TUF 10

What I meant by saying that Kimbo is good for MMA is that he will spark interest in it and thereby increase ratings (which was already mentioned), but the side effects of increased ratings and buy rates are that hopefully fighter's paydays go up and more people are exposed to the sport.

The negative (and this far outweighs his positive benefits) are that people view MMA as some sort of freakshow WWE knock off and will not see it as a legitimate sport. It is nice to see Canseco getting rocked by a giant in less than 2 minutes. Hopefully this discourages random has been celebrities from putting gloves on and stepping in to fight.

Increased exposure is generally good, but it comes with some negative effects as well. Maybe some kids who have never heard of MMA will be drawn in by all the sideshow spectacle and will actually start to train. Granted, a lot of people will just be there to see the freak, but if it gets one or two more people to start training, is that the worst thing in the world?

Personally, I'd rather have Kimbo go back to being a porn bodyguard, but since he's part of TUF 10, I'm trying to find the positives. Not a lot, but there are a few.

On a side note, Strikeforce has really been picking it up recently.

Re: Kimbo on TUF 10

One thing that we can't deny is that Kimbo has great potential. I know there was the Petruzelli fight. But, I chalk that up to inexperience and we have seen all sorts of studs go down throughout the years.

He was a great football player, he is obviously tuf (no pun intended), and has great physical potential.

For some reason I have to root for him. In all of his interviews, he is respectful and nice to everyone.

I would like to see him do well in MMA.

HAve you seen this fight? It for sure looked like a work and I am the last person to call that....judge for yourself. I think he is for sure a good athlete but is he serious about MMA or money?

(WFS/ mild violence.....Bobby vs Mike Cook.)

Re: Kimbo on TUF 10

I don't necessarily think it was a work because Cook is terrible, however, I can see how some think it is.

I just think Cook was scared ****less and after Lashley originally got his neck, he wanted the fight to be over.

Get it on video!

With that said, Lashley is no Lesnar.

Not sold on carwin yet, he looks like he has really heavy hands but his boxing style leaves him wide open, Gonzaga was rocking him hard until he went down. I think he would put on exciting fights regardless but I think a solid striker picks him apart faily easy...

You might be right on this one. I just like to root for the humble big guys.
