Mebb?

I was wondering if anybody has tried out with any success the WOD currently being posted on CoachRut's blog. It's only 3 times a week, MWF with a strength workout on a single movement + a short metcon.

http://coachrut.blogspot.com/search?...max-results=20
(wfs)

I'd like to do the mainpage WOD, but for the time being I'm in a place where facilities (and rules) probably would make it a bit difficult, so I'm trying to look for something that's a mix of strength focus + metcon.

The recent CFSB article in the CFjournal seems intriguing, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time to go to the gym so frequently.

I was actually thinking of doing a modified Starting Strength (cut down sets to 3?, maybe cut out bench press) and add a short metcon of my choice each workout, MWF. Similar to Coach Rut's WOD, but fewer sets, more exercises.

Re: Mebb?

What are your goals?

If you don't have any set defined goals then prescribing programming or a certain template is useless.

If, for example, your goal is to get strong and big... metabolic work probably isn't the best. But if you want to be fit and strong a combo of different stuff may work. Etc. etc.

Re: Mebb?

I think my goal is utilize the limited facilities and time I have right now to the best of my ability. It will hard to do crossfit in a commercial gym, and I've always wanted to get my strength up a little bit faster, so I think I'll take this time to do some sort of hybrid. Plus, I want to work on some gymnastic things - I'm closing in on a front lever, one arm pullup. I also want to get that handstand, etc

Re: Mebb?

Er, click on the link in my signature and then read the section on goal setting. That might help you out some.

I would mostly guess that you want to do some integrative strength with CF or something like that based on your response, heh. Probably aim on 1-2 lifts before CF if you have the work capacity to do that.
