Peanut butter bacon crunch ice cream in the freezer setting up as we speak....

In the words of Alton Brown, "Good Eats".

Re: The bacon thread

Cool, I saw that one when I Googled bacon ice cream recipes. Did you candy the bacon? If so, did you use maple syrup? Sounds very interesting.

http://theoatmeal.com/comics/bacon_love (NSFW, mild swearing? But then again, bacon).

Sorry if it was posted already, and thanks to whoever post something from this site in another thread that led me to this awesomeness.

1) Simple spinach salad with grilled pineapple, chicken, and crumbled bacon on top. Made a pineapple vinaigrette with bacon fat in place of olive oil.

2) Strip steak with shallots and a bourbon bacon reduction

3) (The non paleo one and the favorite) Bacon Chocolate Cheesecake. Chilled bacon fat in place of butter in the crust, and some finely chopped bacon bits for good measure. Marscopone, bacon, and chocolate for the filling.

Not my best work, but it was all good. Especially with a side of bacon.

It al sounds amazing. The cheesecake sounds really good! My wife is allergic to chocolate. I wonder if you could do it minus the chocolate and have it still taste good? Might have to try...

Thanks for the great ideas.

I'm not sure, but you could try butterscotch and cut back on the sugar. I just used a regular cheesecake recipe with marscopone instead of cream cheese. But I don't see why you couldn't use cream cheese instead.
