Looking for a reputable Krav Maga school

Any one know of any sites with reputable Krav Maga schools listed? Currently located in KC, Missouri and want to make sure there's something worthwhile locally before I invest money into it.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Looking for a reputable Krav Maga school

Looks like I need to get ahold of them (guys at the main KM site) then. There's a place here near Kansas City, MO that claims to be a licensee of the official Krav Maga site you linked...but the main site has no reference to them existing.

Re: Looking for a reputable Krav Maga school

I know this is an old post, but the link doesn't work, so I'm replying for those who may cross this in the future. As I do both Krav Maga and CrossFit, I know how they complement each other. I encourage CrossFitters to join my Krav class & my fellow Kravists to join me in CrossFit. :-)

A good Krav Maga school in Kansas City is Premier Martial Arts in Lee's Summit. The instructor is top-notch & he's helped produce hundreds of black belts in his over a decade of teaching. He has recently trained at the Wingate Institute in Israel as well as many other places in his 27 years of experience. He's a fifth degree black belt & I couldn't ask for a better master instructor.

Re: Looking for a reputable Krav Maga school

Old thread I know.

I too am looking for a KM school/instructor in northwest Jersey.

I'm 57 and have zero martial arts experience. Am in reasonable condition through CrossFit and would like to get some real world self defense training. Have no desire to pursue this as a sport, just want to gain competence and confidence.

Goals: 10 strict pull-ups, bench press my BW, do a muscle-up.

Jeff,
Have you been to their website? They have a list of affiliated schools

Hi Gonzalo,
Yes, I used the link and there is a new school opening about 25 minutes away from me. It will be called Blue Titan Fitness and they're aiming for a February 1 opening.

Jeff
David Kahn is in NJ. Probably one of the best KM instructors out there.

Re: Looking for a reputable Krav Maga school

FWIW, there is some real crap out there. If you have zero experience, you won't recognize it. Judo and BJJ have less of a reputation for crap instruction. I'm sure there is some good Krav out there, but I've seen some pretty awful videos posted by a local instructor...

Any school, take a good look at what they teach. Are they covering avoidance and de-escalation techniques? Are they covering the law around self-defense? Are they covering when it might be appropriate to defend yourself?
