"Your crazy to do that Cross-Fit stuff"

So, I havn't even gone to my first workout - and I'm getting that already. They damn near think I'm gonna die during Fight Gone Bad (which will be my first WOD).

They say "It was made for BJ Penn. Even he said it was tough. You can't do that!"

I say "You weren't married to my ex-wife for four years. This'll be a piece of cake!"

BRING IT!!!

It's Peanut Butter FGB time!!!
I can't wait...

Re: "Your crazy to do that Cross-Fit stuff"

At some point I realized that everyone who told me that was right. And I was glad. If you're not working hard enough to be viewed by lazy folk as crazy/dangerous, well, you're not working hard enough, be it at work, in the gym, with/for your family, etc. I don't always live up to that standard, but this stuff has helped quite a bit.

"Your crazy to do that Cross-Fit stuff" = " Im to lazy to put any real effort into my well being...or anything for that matter"

Welcome to a world of pain, sweat, and if you doing it right occasional tears. your going to love it.

I often look at other people in the gym and think to myself they are the crazy ones for wasting so much time doing seemingly useless workouts.

Exactly. I hear this kinda stuff all the time too; people are either dumb, lazy, or jealous. Either that or WE are all crazy, but I don't really care if we are at this point!

Re: "Your crazy to do that Cross-Fit stuff"

When I first started Crossfit the workouts crushed me every time. And I was doing them scaled way down.

Now I am at a point that when someone asks me what I did for a workout that day, I almost hesitate to tell them. If you add in warm up, work out, and then what I do post workout...It seems crazy. Even though I did it and the words are coming out of my mouth it seems crazy. (While I am doing them it feels normal to me now.)

If someone would have told me the amount of work I would be able to do in one workout when I started, I would have never believed them.

I find this strange but people have said they wish they could be as fit as I am.
Honestly I feel that I have a long way to go.

Keep up the effort.

Remember, scaling is your friend...You can do this. And the proof that you can is all over this forum. We all started somewhere.

And to repeat...Scale the WOD.

Re: "Your crazy to do that Cross-Fit stuff"

Not near as crazy as I am for sitting in front of a computer all day every day. If I was a farmer or a carpenter I wouldn't need crossfit because my lifestyle would keep me in good enough shape to not die of the various health problems a life of sitting gives you.

I like crossfit because treadmills and the like are boring. In fact any exercise is boring the second time you do it, crossfit makes sure I'm doing something different all the time, so I have a chance of keeping at it.
